Gardening can be done on the cheap. But it’s easy to browse a few catalogues and end up with a wish list as long as your arm. There’s nothing wrong with splashing out on tools and accessories, but we don’t recommend starting out that way. Instead, start small and stick to the basics. There’s plenty of time for fancy equipment later.
